RCEkoenergia increases the share of renewable energy in heat production – agreement signed for the installation of biomass boilers

18.05.2026

RCEkoenergia, a company within the Unimot Group, has signed an agreement with Eco Energy Service for the supply, installation, and commissioning of two biomass steam boilers with a capacity of over 3.5 MW. This is another stage in the transformation of RCEkoenergia’s heat source toward renewable energy. After the new units are commissioned, the company will gradually increase the share of renewable energy sources in the production of heat and electricity.

The subject of the agreement concluded with Eco Energy Service is the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of the first two biomass steam boilers with a total capacity of 3.52 MW, along with a flue gas dedusting system and a storage silo. In the future, further expansion of the biomass system is planned, as well as an increased share of fuel in the form of biomass that meets the so-called sustainability criteria (KZR, Kryteria Zrównoważonego Rozwoju). The modernization of RCEkoenergia’s heat source will ultimately enable the phase-out of coal-based production.

The boilers to be installed at RCEkoenergia are supplied by the Ukrainian manufacturer Bent Iron, a company specializing in biomass heating equipment.

“Through this investment, we combine the energy transition with operational efficiency. We are increasing the share of renewable energy sources and moving away from coal, building a system based on a fuel mix that will meet the standards of efficient district heating both today and in the coming years. We are doing this consciously and in stages so that the transformation is durable and effective,” says Włodzimierz Popielewski, the president of the management board of RCEkoenergia.

The project is aligned with the sustainable development strategy of the Unimot Group. The modernization of RCEkoenergia’s heat source is long-term in nature and involves the gradual phase-out of coal-based production and its replacement with heat and electricity from renewable and high-efficiency energy sources, while maintaining the status of an efficient heating system. The target capacity of the RCEkoenergia source is expected to reach nearly 40 MW.
